It’s a cool combo to play in because of the capabilities of each instrument. The cello can take a melody and make it soar, or lay down a bass line to keep a groove. Cellists are, by and large, classically trained. But their instrument is so cool and gets used in a vast array of music, they make for an experienced and versatile duo partner.
