Outside ceremonies are great but the voices get lost and guests have a hard time hearing the vows and readings. It’s almost like watching a silent movie. For an additional $75, I can provide sound reinforcement so that all of your guests hear the vows and readings.
Absolutely. Most anything can be arranged for solo guitar, or accomplished as a duo of guitar and melodic instrument. I have made countless arrangements over the years, even entire ceremonies built on a theme. I will arrange up to 3 songs/pieces free-of-charge. Since it is a such a special time in your lives, I want to provide an experience that represents your signature style. It will be something you and your guests will remember forever.
Yes, however to protect the instrument(s) from the sun, there’s a $50 fee for the sunshade. The fee is waived if the event is moved inside. Also, I use a battery powered amp for those situations where AC power is a problem.
Yes. Appointments can be arranged to meet at my studio in Manchester, CT. Also, consultations are possible by telephone, Facetime or Skype. If you’re interested in attending one of my performances, let me know and I’ll make arrangements where appropriate.
For a ceremony, these are the typical parts that will generally have musical accompaniment:
- Prelude: 15 – 20 minutes of music similar in style to selections used for processionals and recessional. Requests can be specific or I can choose.
- Seating of the Parents
- Bridal Party
- Bridal Processional
- In-Service music
Yes. While most of the weddings I usually play are as a guitar soloist, the guitar pairs especially well with flute, violin, cello or voice. Any music that I have as a soloist can be arranged for a duo.
For a typical wedding ceremony, I will play a 15-20 minute prelude of music as guests arrive and take their seats. As the ceremony begins, I’ll provide music for the seating of the parents, the bridal party and the bridal processional, respectively. If the ceremony requires any in-service music (between readings or during a unity candle lighting), I can provide that as well. Occasionally, I am asked to provide underscore music throughout the ceremony. On cue from the officiant, I’ll start the recessional. If there is a receiving line, I can provide a brief postlude of 10 minutes.
