Tim Maynard's second CD

Featuring some of best loved music from the guitarist's repertoire, Tim Maynard's latest CD brings the artist's enchanting musicality to a whole new level. An exploration of the music of Barrios delights in the music of the composer's folk heritage and contrasts it with works inspired by his deep religious spirituality. With a nod to Segovia, the romantic sounds of Spain and Brazil are presented as an homage to the great Spanish guitarist who popularized the guitar music of Turina and Villa-Lobos. Transcriptions of the lute music of both Bach and Weiss serve as a fine balance to the romance of Mertz and continue in the Segovia tradition. Mr. Maynard's tone and interpretation of these works exhibit the nuance and sensitivity he feels for these jewels of the repertory.
